So when I decided to read this book I was worried. I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype. I am one for avoiding things that are popular, avoiding them like the plague! But it’s true; everything you hear or read about this book is true. I hate clichés but, it will make you laugh, and cry and think. It will make you marvel at such a pleasurable reading book and at once rejoice and despair in the reality of it. If you have ever loved, hated, cared, gained friends and lost friends, if you have ever lusted over someone that is the best and worst of your life. If you have ever wanted more from everything, I implore you, read this book. Looking for Alaska is for sure up there with some of the best stories ever written and although John Green himself is laced throughout this book, it feels like it is your own story. And for that John Green is not near genius...he is story telling at its best, which is genius.
